About the Author
Rosie Sorenson, MA, MFT, is a recovering psychotherapist and former health care administrator.
Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury News, the Chicago Tribune, The Pittsburg Tribune-Review and other publications. She won honorable mention
in the Erma Bombeck Writing Competition for 2007. She also writes a monthly humor column for The Foolish Times
(www.foolishtimes.net.)
Her essays have been broadcast on KQED-FM, the popular San Francisco
NPR affiliate, in its "Perspectives" series. In 2006 she won its Listener Favorite Award. She is a member
of the Cat Writer's Association.
She lives in Northern California with her sweetheart, Steve, and Billy and Sugar. Turtleman,
her beloved black rescue kitty, went over the Rainbow Bridge in February of 2009.
